The project was to fully renovate severely antiquated research facilities occupying two existing floors located in the William Black Building, part of Columbia University Medical Center’s Department of Medicine. The project consisted of the conversion and fit-out of wet research labs and support spaces plus utility infrastructure upgrade. The lab programming, design, medical equipment and office/lab furniture planning process involved detailed consultation with end-user groups led by FCA and CUMC. The project resulted in a four-fold increase in Researcher and Tech positions, from 12 to 48.
